I'll elaborate more on this aspect later, but now, VIDEO!Ī lot of the art assets and level designs are stand-ins while I concentrate on the game mechanics and AI. The platforming gameplay sits on top of a small simulation, which controls two competing groups of AI, Cits and Bummers. The grappling mechanics are all physics based. The player can attach a grappler to any static object in the game. Point behind you and release thrust to accelerate faster, or point both fists down to thrust straight up. Each of these is controlled with the hydra and is represented onscreen by Coz's hands. Players control Coz, a robot on two wheels equipped with grapplers, thrusters, and energy whappers (for whapping things). I received my Dev Kit yesterday and, after testing my project and confirming it works with the hardware like I'd hoped, I thought it was a good time to share my progress with the Rift community.ĬOZ is a platformer designed, ground up, to support the Rift and Hydra. ![]()
